Ethan Newmyer is a writer, director, and photographer based in Los Angeles. His most recent film, Last Days of the Lab, was selected for the Rising Voices program and screened at Tribeca and the Toronto International Film Festival, before going on to qualify for Best Live Action Short at the 2024 Academy Awards.
As a 2024-2025 Sundance Institute recipient of The Asian American Foundation (TAAF) Scholarship, he is developing Loma, his feature film debut. He is also in the process of co-writing the feature film Guava Tree alongside his creative partner María Alvarez. The duo are currently in post-production on their next short film, Canopy Shyness.
